For example, in China, supermarket carts mostly use 5-inch or 4-inch casters. At present, the popular sizes of casters in the market range from 1 inch to 10 inch. Commonly used sizes include 2 inch, 2.5 inch, 3 inch, 3.5 inch, 4 inch, 5 inch, 6 inch, 8 inch, 10 inch, etc. Generally, it is recommended to use 4-6 inch casters for supermarket shopping carts, logistics carts, tool carts, etc. However, if the diameter of the casters is too large, it will cause the center of gravity of the equipment to rise and increase costs, so comprehensive consideration should be taken. If the equipment does not need to be frequently pushed, such as furniture, refrigerators, etc., but only needs to be moved during hygiene, use casters less than 3 inches.

Furthermore, it is also necessary to consider the load-bearing capacity. For casters of the same diameter, manufacturers usually produce several series for different load-bearing purposes, such as light, medium, and medium-sized. The method is to make the wheels and brackets have different thicknesses or materials. When calculating the load of a single caster, a certain safety factor should be given. When the ground is relatively flat, the load of a single caster=(total weight of the equipment ÷ number of casters installed) × 1.2 (insurance coefficient); If the ground is uneven, the algorithm is that the load on a single caster equals the total weight of the equipment ÷ 3, because regardless of the type of uneven ground, there are always at least three wheels supporting the equipment at the same time. This algorithm increases the safety factor, is more reliable, and prevents insufficient load-bearing, greatly reducing the lifespan of the casters or leading to accidents. In foreign-funded companies, the load-bearing capacity is generally expressed in pounds, while in most cases in China, it is expressed in kilograms. Their conversion relationship is 2.2 pounds=1 kilogram.
